Tego designed and implemented a new Rubrik-based backup system for a client spanning more than 45 site locations across 18 states. The project simplified the client’s complex environment by consolidating five legacy technologies into a single modern solution, reducing points of failure and ensuring reliable performance without requiring manual intervention.

This large-scale initiative took over two years from conception to delivery and required the collaboration of nearly every division of Tego.

Our team was awarded the project over six competing partners, including two incumbents, thanks to our proven expertise, client-first approach, and ability to deliver end-to-end execution.

Project highlights include:
- Preserved $1.3 million in hardware refresh credits, extending them to 2025.

Tego supported a client with a Network Security Residency designed to strengthen infrastructure, optimize firewall performance, and improve overall security posture. Our team began with comprehensive assessments, including best practice reviews, utilization analysis, and resource evaluations to identify gaps and opportunities.

In the design phase, we implemented advanced segmentation strategies, including isolated VLANs for information security and physical security teams, VXLAN L2 stretch, and VRF segmentation, to ensure that traffic flowed securely through the nearest data center firewalls. We also right-sized firewalls based on utilization needs and developed detailed migration documentation to minimize downtime.

During implementation, Tego remediated findings from the assessments by deploying granular firewall policies, ingress restrictions, and zone protection profiles, while continuously monitoring and refining rules to remove unused policies. Firewalls were upgraded and replaced as needed to maintain peak performance and resilience.

Finally, our ongoing support included root cause analysis of incidents through log correlation, peer reviews to validate compliance with security standards, and thorough knowledge transfer with documentation for the client’s operations teams.

Through this residency, Tego delivered a scalable, secure, and well-documented network security environment that reduced risk and aligned with industry best practices.
