Project Manager - Professional & Advisory Services

We’re seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead complex Professional Services and Advisory engagements across our client portfolio. In this role, you’ll coordinate multi-phase projects involving diverse stakeholders, drive operational excellence, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Delivery

  • Manage multi-phase Professional Services and Advisory engagements involving multiple workstreams, frameworks, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Lead engagement kickoff meetings and confirm prerequisites (access, client SMEs, evidence sources, dependencies, timelines, and roles/responsibilities)
  • Define and manage project scope, objectives, deliverables, success criteria, and milestone acceptance criteria in alignment with executed Statements of Work
  • Develop and maintain phase-based project plans, schedules, milestones, and dependencies across all workstreams
  • Manage change control by documenting scope changes and coordinating internal review and change orders when required

Stakeholder & Client Communication

  • Serve as the primary coordination point for customers throughout the engagement lifecycle, ensuring consistent communication and accountability
  • Establish and run a periodic status cadence (meetings and written updates) that clearly communicates progress, risks, decisions needed, and next steps
  • Coordinate communication across internal teams, auditors/assessors, vendors, and third parties to keep timelines and deliverables aligned
  • Capture key decisions, approvals, and scope clarifications in writing to ensure alignment with contractual commitments and delivery expectations

Resource & Scope Alignment

  • Coordinate internal resource assignments across Professional Services and Advisory teams and maintain a forward-looking staffing forecast
  • Monitor utilization, deliverables, and client responsibilities to prevent scope creep and avoid unplanned rework
  • Support invoicing readiness by aligning billing triggers to milestone completion and acceptance, and ensuring required inputs and approvals are obtained

SOW & Process Improvement

  • Identify gaps and improvement opportunities within active Statements of Work and delivery plans, and provide actionable feedback to Sales, Advisory, and Leadership
  • Provide structured SOW feedback early in engagements to improve assumptions, prerequisites, exclusions, timelines, and role alignment
  • Maintain a recurring list of recommended SOW and delivery improvements to increase estimate accuracy, reduce delivery friction, and improve client experience
  • Support pre-sales scoping as needed to validate timelines, dependencies, and delivery assumptions for complex engagements
  • Lead engagement closeout activities and document lessons learned, including what was underestimated and recommended template/process updates

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure adherence to project management best practices and internal delivery standards, including consistent use of templates and workflows
  • Contribute to refinement of project management templates, tools, and standard engagement “project kits”
  • Implement internal quality checkpoints for key deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency before client delivery
  • Track and report PM performance metrics (on-time milestones, aging risks/issues, invoice cycle time, client satisfaction) to support continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years in IT project management
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Experience with Salesforce, Slack, and similar productivity and collaboration tools is a plus
  • PMP® or CAPM® or equivalent certification preferred

The Pre-Sales Engineer is critical in supporting Tego’s sales team by providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle. This position bridges the gap between client requirements and Tego’s solutions, ensuring a seamless fit to solve business and technical challenges. You will work closely with account executives, customers, and technology partners to design and position tailored IT solutions, from initial discovery through successful handoff to delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand client needs and position appropriate solutions.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to identify customer pain points, requirements, and business drivers.
  • Design and present customized solution architectures and proposals to address client challenges.
  • Deliver engaging product demos, proofs of concept (POCs), and technical presentations to prospective customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong technical expertise across Tego’s portfolio, including cybersecurity, cloud, networking, and data center technologies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams, staying current on industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and technical questionnaires, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client needs.
  • Collaborate closely with Tego’s delivery teams to ensure seamless project handoffs and successful implementation.
  • Partner with OEMs and technology vendors to leverage tools, programs, and resources during the pre-sales process.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and the development of best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales, sales engineering, or solutions architecture role.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, and networking technologies.
  • Familiarity with key vendors and platforms such as VMware, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Palo Alto Networks, NetApp, Nutanix, Veeam, or similar.

This role will require the ability to perform quality prospecting, lead response and relationship building. You will evaluate customers’ needs alongside the engineering team and work with our sales support team to propose full stack solutions.

Requirements

  • Candidate must live in the Triangle Area of North Carolina
  • Successful outside sales experience in the information technology industry, with a documented history of new business development
  • Demonstrate the ability to qualify, penetrate, and close new accounts
  • Develop solid business relationships within the various decision-makers and influencers at all levels at each target account
  • Proven track record of managing multiple sales campaigns simultaneously.
  • Ability to carry a sales campaign from inception to close and attention to detail is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with employees across functions and in remote locations.

  • A minimum of 4 to 6 years related experience is required
