Tego Named a Finalist for IT Services Company of the Year at the 2026 NC TECH Awards

Tego is a finalist for IT Services Company of the Year at the 2026 NC TECH Awards, North Carolina’s only statewide technology awards program. Presented by the North Carolina Technology Association (NC TECH), the program recognizes innovation, growth, and leadership across the state’s tech sector. This is Tego’s third time on the list in this category: the company won IT Services Company of the Year in 2023 and returned as a finalist in 2024.

“Being named a finalist for IT Services Company of the Year again means a great deal to us,” said Nolan Smith, CEO of Tego. “We won this category in 2023 and were a finalist again in 2024, so earning a place on this list year after year tells me our consistency is real. Our clients don’t hire us for awards; they hire us to solve hard IT and cybersecurity problems and stay with them long after the project ends. That’s the work our team does every day, and NC TECH recognizing it three times is a credit to them.”

Growth That Holds Up Year After Year

One strong quarter doesn’t earn a place in this category. Consistent performance does. In 2026, Tego ranked No. 30 on CRN’s Solution Provider 500 Fast Growth list. In addition, the company has appeared on the CRN Solution Provider 500 for five consecutive years and earned the CRN Triple Crown every year from 2023 through 2026. Tego also made the Inc. 5000 in 2022, 2024, 2025, and 2026, and appeared on Inc. Regionals for three straight years.

Built for North Carolina

Tego has operated from its Raleigh headquarters since 2008, and its work stays close to the clients it serves. In August 2026, NCDIT awarded Tego a position on North Carolina’s Cybersecurity Professional Services State Term Contract (DIT 500874-001) in Categories A, G, J, and M. Tego is also a Cisco sub-agent through TD SYNNEX on the NC Statewide IT Contract (204X). As a result, public entities get a single pre-approved local partner for both modernization and security. That work reaches NC counties, municipalities, community colleges, and the UNC System.

Engineering-Led Service Innovation

Tego grows by building new capabilities, not by reselling more of the same. For example, Tego Advisory Services delivers security assessments, audits, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), and incident response, and it now ranks among the company’s fastest-growing practices. Tego is also a CMMC Registered Provider Organization (RPO) supporting the defense supply chain. The company also holds ISO 27001 certification and brings framework expertise across NIST CSF, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-82, CIS Controls, HIPAA, and SOC 2.

A Team Worth Recognizing

Sustainable growth depends on the people behind it. Inc. named Tego one of its Best Workplaces in 2023, 2024, and 2026, and Quantum Workplace recognized the company in 2026. Since 2022, CRN has honored women from Tego on its Women of the Channel list every year. Meanwhile, Tego’s Sales Operations team was a CRN Best of the Channel finalist for Solution Provider Team of the Year in both 2025 and 2026.

“For over 20 years, NC TECH has celebrated companies, organizations and individuals for outstanding achievement at the NC TECH Awards. As a finalist this year, Tego has distinguished itself as one of the state’s innovative and emergent leaders,” said Michelle Calton, Interim CEO of NC TECH.
